The goal is to increase college retention and graduation rates amongst our program participants.MCCC Professional Tutor reports to the Director of TRIO Programs.&nbsp;Tutoring Subject Areas:<ul><li>Math (all levels)</li><li>Writing</li><li>Biology&nbsp;</li><li>Chemistry&nbsp;</li><li>Nursing Pre-Requisite Courses</li><li>Radiology Pre-Requisite Courses</li></ul><ul><li>Understand the assignment and the student’s learning style.</li><li>Be prepared to engage student in active learning and be able to identify students’ strengths and deficiencies using appropriate tutoring strategies to assist the student.</li><li>Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions to TRIO STEM-HS SSS students.</li><li>Work closely with TRIO STEM-HS SSS staff to identify appropriate students and to provide updates, as needed.</li><li>Communicate with TRIO STEM-HS SSS staff regarding scheduling adjustments.</li><li>Attend tutor trainings and meetings.</li><li>Comfortability in using zoom for on-line tutoring.&nbsp;</li><li>Complete all record keeping, as required by grant guidelines using TRIO STEM-HS SSS on-line database system.</li></ul>EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT:&nbsp;&nbsp;We welcome and encourage applicants, who do not meet the qualifications as stated below, to put in writing precisely how their background and experience have prepared them for the responsibilities of this position.
