Description

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Proving Ground Training and Procedure Specialist to work in our Site Utilities department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our CFA facility with every Friday off.

The Proving Ground Training and Procedure Specialist writes/edits documentation on the Energy Technology Proving Ground at CFA such as operating procedures, manuals, specifications and standards, training materials, and other documents. They work closely with the Proving Ground Startup Manager, customers, and tenants to develop and publish necessary materials to ensure appropriate operations and maintenance support throughout the development and operation of the Energy Technology Proving Ground. Critiques data and resolves review comments to ensure clarity and appropriateness of technical content. Manage documentation to support Site Operations, Maintenance, and Support personnel. Process and manage change requests through the electronic system. Ensure documents meet applicable INL guilds and standards. Conduct review meetings as assigned

Responsibilities Include:

  • Write documentation such as operating procedures, scientific and engineering reports, manuals, brochures, specifications and standards, design descriptions, and other material. Work closely with customers and support functions such as text processing and document control to complete assignments. Critiques data and resolves review comments to ensure clarity and appropriateness of technical content. Program personnel. Process and manage change requests through the electronic system. Ensure documents meet applicable INL guides and standards. Conduct review meetings as assigned.
  • Interface with managerial and operations personnel, and engineers and scientists; advise of production status, suggesting improvements to troubleshoot and resolve problems in the documentation and review process.
  • Analyze documentation requirements for major projects. Define scope of work. Schedule documentation activities with project managers and other personnel.
  • Oversee preparation and production of necessary documentation, working with text processors, graphic artists, document control, and printers to ensure professional quality and adherence to budgets and schedules.
  • This position reports to the Division Director.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years relevant experience, Master's degree and 2 years relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience: Navy Nuclear, DOE High hazard conduct of operations. 
  • A minimum of 11 years' relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship. 


Preferred Experience:

  • DOE Experience.
  • Developing operational procedures from operations manual while following strict, established protocols.
  • Authoring and developing comprehensive operating procedure training documents and certification testing.
  • Training administration.


Job Information: 

  • The pay range for this position is $63,528.00 - $130,284.00. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  • You are required to show a demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
