Job Summary
The Coordinator of Academic Advising assists the Director of Academic Advising to provide training and support for faculty and staff (including Administrative and Support Staff).
This position provides support as the university transfer partner contact and resources for RSCC faculty and staff.
Job Duties
Assists with the coordination of all university partner meetings, and outreach events for Roane State students.
Supports the development advisor training programs for faculty and staff and serves as a resource and liaison with faculty and deans for academic advising.
Provides academic advising services when faculty members are away from campus.
Provides academic advising support for dual enrollment and middle college students.
Participates on committees both on and off campus to represent the RSCC Advising office and in lieu of the Director of Advising.
Assists with the coordination of the infrastructure/timeline for faculty advisor assignments.
Communicates and collaborates with One-Stop, Admissions, Records & Registration, Success Coach team, faculty advisors, site directors/staff and support staff to provide seamless advising services to incoming prospective certificate students and currently enrolled students.
Travels to different campus sties to provide outreach and advising assistance to students, faculty and staff.
Responds to email, phone calls and in-person walk-ins from students, faculty and staff requesting assistance from the Advising Resource Center (ARC).
Maintains and completes monthly and annual reporting, paperwork and keeps the Director of Advising apprised of status.
May require evening and weekend work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with three (3) years of experience in academic advising in a post-secondary institution.
Degree in college student personnel, school counseling or leadership/curriculum development preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree with three (3) years of experience in academic advising in a post-secondary institution.
Degree in college student personnel, school counseling or leadership/curriculum development preferred.
