Within the Global Fraud and Banking Risk organization, the fraud claims team is responsible for leading fraud claims management strategy to ensure we are holding the right party accountable for fraud and driving continuous enhancements to our fraud controls. In this role, you will work in a highly dynamic and exciting environment and will have the opportunity to shape strategies and policies for American Express Card products relates to fraud claims. You will be part of a high performing team working closely with multiple partners.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will provide critical data analysis for the Suspect(bogus) fraud transaction review and rebill process, which leverages Amex’s unique closed loop and big data capabilities. In this role, you will closely partner Fraud operational teams, Risk management teams, and many other partners to create/design world-class strategies and capabilities.

  • Analyze fraud claims data for patterns and trends.
  • Define Suspect Fraud review process, design and implementation of suspect fraud claim strategies.
  • Leverage available data to identify opportunities to improve fraud claim strategies, or enhance fraud claim processes.
  • Conduct case reviews to analyze fraud claim issues and explore strategic opportunities.
  • Partner with internal CFR teams to enhance POS & FRAP fraud controls and drive fraud loss reduction.
  • Manage and enhance Daily / Weekly/Monthly KPI reporting and provide reviews on trends/issues.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Graduate Degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer science, Mathematics, Finance, Operations Research, Engineering, Science, or in related advanced quantitative fields is preferred.
  • Experience with data processing tools such as SQL, Python, Hive, etc.
  • Experience manipulating and extracting data from both very large and small datasets.
  • Ability to analyze and identify trends and patterns to draw meaningful conclusions to solve business problems.
  • Ability to create business data reports and produce high-level analysis summary.
  • Ability to marry quantitative and analytical methods and business skills to drive results.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively. Proven track record of driving results with a strong sense of urgency and to follow-up different levels of prioritizations.  
  • Experience in analytics is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast changing environment, with a strong attention to detail, communicate effectively and work well in a cross-functional environment.

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
