Job Title: Custodian
Campus Location: WSCC-Sevier County Campus&nbsp;(Employees are assigned to a “home” location but may occasionally or regularly be required to work at other WSCC locations.)
Job Purpose:&nbsp;he purpose of this position is to perform custodial functions on an assigned Walters State campus. This position also helps the Custodial Lead worker through task identification, task completion, and completion of required training programs.
Essential Job Functions:
<ul>
<li>Completes a set of assigned custodial tasks and aids in the coordination of custodial efforts at assigned location.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Identifies and assists in the requisition of supplies for assigned campus and maintains custodial supplies needed in primarily assigned area.</li>
<li>Identifies and assists in the completion of tasks as recorded in the Events Management System.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Participates and completes training programs identified to maintain regulatory compliance. Some training is issued from Human Resources, while some other training is identified as necessary for the safe, efficient completion of custodial assignments.&nbsp;</li>
<li>May perform other duties as required.&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
Required Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Valid driver’s license. 
</li>
<li>A high school diploma or an equivalent certificate 
</li>
<li>Minimum of three years in a related position 
</li>
<li>Mechanical aptitude to perform light maintenance, as needed 
</li>
<li>Ability to utilize phone system, Microsoft Outlook, and Banner for training and communication purposes 
</li>
<li>Knowledge and ability to use vacuum, scrubber, ladder, carpet extraction machine, hand tools, chemical proportioning equipment, and laundry equipment.</li>

Leadership &amp; Supervisory:&nbsp;The incumbent has no authority or responsibility for the supervision of others, project direction, or program administration. The position operates with moderate supervision, and tasks are somewhat varied. One’s immediate supervisor is readily available for consultation, but familiar work is expected to be performed with only moderate supervision with periodic checks on performance and conformance with expectations.
Environment &amp; Working Conditions:&nbsp;Frequent exposure to extreme heat, humidity, noise, and temperature changes. Occasional exposure to extreme cold. Due to the nature of the position, bodily injury could occur, including damage from flying debris, falls, or hearing damage from loud noises.

Title: Student Services Specialist I
POSITION SUMMARY This front desk position will be the first point of contact for new, continuing and prospective students. It is responsible for assessing student questions and determining the appropriate actions to take, as well as providing the information needed to enroll and be successful at Nashville State.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides general information regarding admissions, financial aid, career services, and student records to prospective students, faculty, staff, and the general public in person, over Zoom/Teams, and via email. Provides student-centered services via various platforms while maintaining a professional and congenial demeanor. Processes student requests for enrollment services.
Assists students with using computer kiosks for admissions and financial aid services including helping with scheduling Welcome Center appointments and navigating MyNSCC. Schedules appointments, coordinates access and distributes documents to other departments across campus. Helps facilitate the resolution of student issues. Captures, reports and evaluates feedback for services provided in each student interaction. Collaborates in the evaluation of creative approaches to promote/advertise NSCC to prospective students.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma
Minimum two years’ customer service experience
Proficiency in basic computer software
Excellent oral communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Associate’s degree or higher
Two years’ experience working in higher education
Multilingual, preferably in Spanish and/or Arabic
Experience with Banner
General knowledge of student services policies and procedures
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Intermediate to advanced computer skills. Aptitude for analyzing student questions and requests. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
