Job Summary
Roane State Community College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Computer Science with Cloud Technologies specialization beginning August 1, 2024. The successful candidate will serve in support of Roane State’s A.A.S. in Computer Information Technology, which offers concentrations in programming, cyber defense, networking, and Cloud Technologies. Courses in this program range from entry level training including A+, Linux+, MS Office, and Net+; includes training in AWS Cloud Foundations I and II. Qualified applicants should submit a detailed coverletter, resume, (unofficial) graduate transcripts, names and contact information of references, and a statement of teaching philosophy. 
Job Duties
<ul>
<li>The successful candidate will be part of a well-established program already designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, and ATMAE accredited.</li>
<li>The faculty member will be responsible for teaching courses in Cloud technologies including distance education programs where appropriate.</li>
<li>Other duties include holding office hours, advising students, service to college and community, and maintaining a program of professional development.</li>

Minimum Qualifications
Master of Science degree in computer science or computer engineering from a regionally accredited institution. Candidates with degrees in related fields should expound on their qualifications in the cover letter. 
Graduation from an institution that has a history of AWS Cloud Technologies certifications is a must. 
We will also accept relevant professional experience in other cloud technologies and virtualization, which should be explained in detail in the cover letter. 
Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills and exhibit flexibility and collegiality. 
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience in cloud technologies at a community college, including online teaching. Computer skills including familiarity with online instruction tools such as Desire2Learn.
 Knowledge of the role and purpose of the community college in higher education.
 Willingness to work with diverse student populations who represent a wide range of age, ethnicity, and academic ability.

Job Summary
Roane State is seeking part-time tutors to work in the Learning Center and the Learning Support Lab. The positions are subject to available funding. Hours of work will depend upon demand for services and may vary over the course of the semester. Depending on enrollment and course offerings each semester, positions are potentially available on all campuses and online.
Job Duties

<li>% - Provide tutoring sessions in person, over Zoom, and through D2L for students, staff, alumni, and community members at the RSCC Learning Centers and Learning Support Labs. Provide tutoring consultations for small groups when needed. - (Essential)</li>

Minimum Qualifications
Applicant must have completed coursework or degree in the specialized area(s) to be tutored. Applicants generally must obtain a GPA of 3.5 or higher in the area of specialization and a 3.0 or higher overall. Primary subject areas are English (writing and reading), math, and sciences (anatomy and physiology, biology, chemistry, and physics).
Preferred Qualifications
Computer skills in Microsoft applications. Experience using Zoom. Experience in course management systems (namely, D2L).
