The U.S. Consumer Services Team is responsible for our suite of consumer products, services, and experiences in the U.S., including our premium, cobrand, cash back, and lending portfolios, Membership Rewards, Global Travel & Lifestyle Services, the Centurion Lounge network, our Global Dining and Resy businesses, U.S. Consumer Banking, and best-in-class marketing programs across customer, prospect, and partner channels. Membership Portfolio Services is responsible for developing and scaling several growing businesses that are strategically important to American Express. Each of the businesses within Membership Portfolio Services connect Card Members with Merchants -a key differentiator of our Membership Model - and which also represent a significant opportunity to help drive our growth over the mid-to-long term.

Amex Offers sits within the Membership Portfolio Services Team.

Launched in 2012, Amex Offers is a digital advertising platform that connects Merchants, Advertisers and brands with the tens of millions of American Express Card Members across the globe. The Amex Offers team develops strategic marketing partnerships that deliver – through the Amex offers platform - unique differentiated value to reach high-spending Card Members in the digital channels where they engage with American Express. Through this solution, we can help advertisers get laser-focused on who our mutual customers are, what they want, and how we can meet their needs - delivering deep insights and maximizing results.

How will you make an impact in this role?

The Senior Manager of Amex Offers Finance Transformation will be responsible for defining and leading critical transformational workstreams across existing Amex Offers Finance and Accounting processes as well as new revenue streams. This includes leading exploratory work to define internal process breakdowns and implementing recommendations in close partnership with core business functions such as Controllership, Finance, Co-brand and Marketing. This individual will also be responsible for establishing new, streamlined processes to facilitate growth through hybrid-sourcing model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Map E2E cross-functional finance processes to identify process breakdowns and control gaps; define recommendations and associated business value, success metrics and dependencies
  • Effectively engage multiple stakeholders, business partners and dependent process owners to secure buy-in and develop the overall transformation strategy for Amex Offers Finance
  • Create new risk mitigation tactics to limit financial exposure in partnership with Credit Risk, Global Servicing Group, LFO, and Controllership teams
  • Define business strategy to scale debit functionalities as a form of Merchant payment
  • Lead exploratory work to define third-party payment strategy to support growth of payment facilitators as well as hybrid sourcing model and deliver through execution
  • Identify automation opportunities across end-to-end Amex Offers finance workflow in partnership with marketing and product teams
  • Concisely and logically communicate insights and recommendations with senior leadership across lines of business

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in a Finance-related role with proven track record for driving process optimization or complex transformational workstreams
  • Strong ability to understand financial concepts and processes and deep experience working with P&L’s, Controllership functions is a must
  • Knowledge of Merchant operations and third-party impacts on finance and accounting systems a plus
  • Ability to build and leverage relationships, using a strong network of partnerships across the organization to drive deliverables to closure
  • Can influence beyond direct authority and across band levels to drive results
  • Comfort navigating highly complex, matrixed environment and creating a sense of urgency
  • Strategic mindset and ability to develop plans for medium and long term; is organized about work and deliverables, pays meticulous attention to details
  • Demonstrates a risk and control and compliance mindset
  • Employs agile and resilient mindset in changing circumstances and focuses on continuous improvement opportunities
  • Communicates effectively, both in written and verbal mediums; presents with confidence

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
