ProOrtho, a division of Proliance Surgeons, Inc. is a multispecialty orthopedic clinic with multiple locations in Washington state including Kirkland, Seattle, and Monroe. We have award-winning providers with specialties in foot and ankle, knee, hip, elbow, shoulder, spine, total joint replacement, sports medicine, pain management, orthobiologics and physiatry. Our surgeons operate at our own ASC as well as several local hospitals including Providence (Swedish), Evergreen Health, and Overlake Medical Center.

The Physician Assistant will assist orthopedic surgeons in all capacities of patient care. This involves various settings including maintaining a clinic practice, assisting in the Operating Room, handling ER call, and making Hospital Rounds. The primary goal is to provide excellent orthopedic care under the supervision of the Orthopedic Specialist of ProOrtho, while working within an approved scope of practice. 

Essential Qualities 

The essential qualities necessary include, but are not limited to: 

  • Superior customer service skills 
  • Great interpersonal skills; demonstrating patience, composure, and cooperation; working well with all patients, physicians and staff. 
  • Understanding of and adherence to all safety, risk management and precautionary procedures, including the consistent respect for confidentiality (HIPAA). 

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Problem solving skills 
  • Skill in using a computer and electronic medical records 
  • Knowledge of orthopedics 
  • Outpatient clinical organizational ability 
  • Surgical assists- familiarization with specific surgical procedures prior to surgery, assist in moving and positioning patients, write orders, complete paperwork. 
  • Clinical care- outpatient care of orthopedic patients, joint aspiration/injections, patient education, return patient phone calls, medication refill requests, complete FMLA, disability paperwork etc. 
  • Hospital Rounding- patient care and charting, paperwork and interacting with staff, consultants, and discharge planners. 

Education/Experience/Skills 

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician’s Assistant Program. 
  • Current State licensure, DEA license and CPR, ACLS and PALS accreditation 
  • Two years of OR and clinic practice is desired 
  • Healthcare Occupations: 1 year (Preferred) 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities 

  • Problem-solving skills 
  • Skill in using a computer, prior NextGen and Epic experience is a plus! 
  • Knowledge of orthopedics 
  • Outpatient clinical organizational ability

  • Some bending and stretching required. Use of telephone is required. 
  • Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.

Work may be performed in an office and clinical environment.  Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.  While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear.  The associate is required to sit for long periods of time, stand and walk, bend and stretch.  Use of telephone and computer is required.   May requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
