Patient Access Supervisor - PAFS*

POSITION SUMMARY\:

 

The Patient Access Supervisor position provides overall direction of the Patient Access Centers at two separate campuses within Sutter Health Sacramento Sierra Region.  Together these campuses register an average of 4000+ accounts per day.

                                      

The incumbent’s primary responsibilities are to promote and reflect the philosophy of the Sutter Difference. Supervise the overall activities of the assigned centers; implement standardize processes/equipment and implement best practices; develop leads to carry out the concept of team management and decisions closest to the work; monitor compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards; monitor every day activities at the affiliates and maintain an effective working relationship with other hospital departments.

Qualification:

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS\:

 

·         Education\:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Business and patient accounting experience preferred.

 

·         Experience\:

Current Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) certification preferred.

Demonstrated experience in leadership of personnel along with strong interpersonal skills is required.   Four to six years in acute hospital registration management or the equivalent in pertinent and related work experience.     ·         Knowledge\: The incumbent must be familiar with third party regulations and requirements, managed care concepts and current practices, as well as utilization review principles and practices. Also of importance is generalized knowledge of personnel laws.  Knowledge of Federal/State/JACHO requirements for registration.  Working knowledge and prior responsibility for IP, OP, Surgical and Emergency registration processes.   ·         Special Skills/Equipment\: The incumbent must have demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as having excellent verbal and written skills. Use of personal computers for word processing and spread sheet management is helpful.  Some experience with mainframe computer systems is helpful. Proven track record in personnel development, expense control, project management and customer satisfaction.
