Financial/Business Analyst

Overview

This position serves as a business support role within the IT Infrastructure function utilizing business acumen to identify potential methods to streamline and simplify the processes associated with financial expenditures. In turn, providing recommendations to leadership. This majority of the tasks are operational with significant financial responsibilities in addition to overall business support tasks.

Location

 U.S. based; prefer DFW metro.

Education

High School or GED equivalent

Preferred: Post-secondary accounting education

    Span of Control:

    Reports to: Director, Technology Infrastructure 

    Oversight:  This position has no direct reports

    This position will complete global work

    Roles/ Responsibilities

    • Compile and validate financial data from technology vendors. 
    • Compile and analyze financial and business reports.
    • Support leadership in the management of technology expenses.
    • Monitor and assess technology investments for potential risk.
    • Prepare financial/business reports with reliable/valid conclusions/recommendations that can be used to implement more effective operational strategies.
    • Forecast models for revenue changes and expenditure increases/decreases.
    • Manage and shepherd the yearly technology budget by comparing forecasts actuals.
    • Identify areas for automation opportunities.
    • Institute costs controls.
    • Manage the transfer pricing for a global technology organization.
    • Determines cost of operations by establishing standard costs and collecting operational data.
    • Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures.
    • Serves as a resource for guidance on processes and techniques.
    • Increases productivity by developing automated accounting/business applications.
    • Manage, lead and coordinate implementation projects with international datacenter and internal teams.
    • Serves as resource for responding to internal and external audits.

    Qualifications

    Minimum required: 

    • Financial Acumen: Intermediate. Strong working knowledge of financial concepts/reporting/accounting principles
    • MS Office suite:
      • Excel: Advanced
      • PowerPoint: Intermediate
      • Outlook: Intermediate
    • Business Acumen: Knowledge of standard business concepts, interactions, business functions

    Preferred:

    • Experience with technology function within an organization.
    • Vendor management experience.
    • Financial assessment/reporting experience.

    Physical Demands/  Travel required

      Work associated with this position is sedentary in nature and performed indoors at a desk either remotely or in an office setting. 

      Travel for this position is less than 10%.

      This position is hybrid in office and remote.
