Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Field Intelligence Element (FIE) Director to work in our N&HS Directorate. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our REC facility with every other Friday off. The FIE Director is accountable to INL’s Associate Laboratory Director for National & Homeland Security and to the Director of DOE’s Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence (DOE-IN). 

Responsibilities Include:

This position has two key roles: director of INL’s Field Intelligence Element (FIE) and oversight of the approximately 20 staff responsible for the security of INL’s classified work spaces and computer networks associated with FIE operations. The FIE Director is the principal official at INL responsible for the oversight of, compliance with, and reporting under Executive Orders 12333 and 13462 and all Department of Energy (DOE) policies and procedures for intelligence and intelligence-related activities, including the Strategic Intelligence Partnership Program (SIPP). The FIE Director is responsible for the protection of classified intelligence information in accordance with the Executive Orders, Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), and other relevant DOE policies and guidance.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 15 years of relevant experience required. Examples of relevant experience include working directly with the U.S. Intelligence Community and/or Department of Defense on classified programs; working in secure environments; managing employees working on classified programs. 
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing teams, including professional development of staff required. National-level experience desired.
  • Established skills required in interpersonal and customer relations, oral and written communication, and forming and leading teams in the accomplishment of strategic objectives.

    Additional requirements
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, U.S. government standards and regulations for physical and computer security is desired.
  • Prior experience working in a FIE and with the SIPP process is desired.
  • This position requires an active - Top Secret security clearance (or DOE equivalent Q clearance) required, and must be able to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access. Must be willing and able to successfully complete a polygraph examination.


Job Information: 

  • The target pay range for this position is $121,920- $236,238 annually.  The full pay range is $121,920 - $316,992. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  • You are required to show a demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
