THE ROLE
Responsible for the review and approval of Distribution client-facing employee expenses. Using discretion and judgment, confirms adherence with MFS policies and guidelines which govern sales practices for client financial support. Possesses an understanding of each of the business channels’ practices and works to help support their efforts while ensuring a strong oversight and governance model. Identifies trends, training opportunities and communicates them to appropriate parties. Interacts and builds relationships with various departments within MFS.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Reviews expenses and monitors adherence to the MFS policies around travel and entertainment, gifts and events, and charity support, while processing, approving, and rejecting expenses (e.g. travel, entertainment, Business Partner and MFS sponsored training, seminars, gifts, etc.) for client-facing employees with respect to MFS guidelines and procedures.
  • Reviews required documentation and ensures approvals are received on all expenses in accordance with the appropriate guidelines and procedures. Provides feedback to employees and supervisors on expense submissions that are not in good order.
  • Evaluates submissions against applicable guidelines for potential business practice issues or regulatory concerns. Analyzes history and other sources of information of potential issues. Performs further investigation and obtains additional detailed research by discussing and questioning with the eCommunication team.
  • Escalates potential violations of MFS policies for business partner financial support to the Oversight Lead Specialist. Recommends next course of action to be taken on issues and follows through on open issues, un-submitted and pending expenses.
  • Understands both internal and industry regulations, guidelines, policies and issues impacting business partner financial support.
  • Acts as the liaison for Distribution with Event Management. Responsible for verifying all the required records are being submitted in good order based on established procedures.
  • Ensures gift and company ticket tracking is getting completed in a timely manner. Responsible for providing reporting and escalating late submissions to the Oversight Lead Specialist.
  • Responsible for the covered persons list reconciliations are being processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Partners with the Oversight Lead Specialist on the creation and maintenance of all operational training materials for business partner financial support.
  • Assists in any projects and team initiatives as needed.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2-5+ years of investment industry related experience.
  • Strong organization skills: ability to work independently and interact as a team player with all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills, cognitive thinking of rules and regulations and attention to detail is critical, and commitment to the highest quality standards; prioritize work effectively and show adaptability to changing internal priorities and internal client demands.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; proven reporting and analytical skills.
  • Builds productive working relationships with contacts at various levels within the organization.
  • Proficiency in MS applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Self-motivated ability to lead and ability to work independently and exhibit cognitive thinking with interpretation of rules and regulations.

PREFERRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • FINRA registrations (Series 7 and 24)
  • Multilingual
